The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Barbados Donated Medical Equipments to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados

On 17th January, 2017, Ambassador Wang Ke donated two Automated External Defibrillators (AED) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Barbados. The Foundation’s President Mr. Humphrey Metzgen and CEO Mrs. Fiona Anthony also attended the donation ceremony.

Ambassador Wang Ke spoke highly of the efforts that the Foundation has made to provide rehabilitation and health care services, promote the knowledge of prevention and control of cardiovascular disease and first aid skills to the public, and expressed that the Chinese Embassy always stands ready to render support to the development of medical and public health services in Barbados. Ambassador Wang also hoped that this donation could better facilitate the Foundation’s first aid effort and encourage more local agencies to give assistance to the Foundation within their capacities.

Mr. Humphrey Metzgen and Mrs. Fiona Anthony expressed their sincere gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its generous donation and promised to make full use of these two AEDs to better educate first aid skills such as CPR to the public in an effort to upgrade their service.
