The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism and International Transport of Barbados

On March 6th, H.E. Yan Xiusheng, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Barbados paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Richard Sealy, Minister of Tourism and International Transport of Barbados. Mr. Zou Xi, Political Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Barbados, Mrs. Celia Pollard-Jones, Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism also attended the meeting.

Ambassador Yan and Minister Sealy together reviewed the fruitful achievements that have been made in all areas such as politics, economy, trade, education, culture, health care and people to people exchanges between China and Barbados since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 41 years ago. They agreed to work together to deepen the cooperation between China and Barbados under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative to bring the friendly bilateral relationship to a higher level.

Ambassador Yan briefed the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the first China International Import Expo as well. The two sides also exchanged views on other mutual interests.
