Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Barbados met with the Executive Director of International Trade Centre

On July 27th, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Barbados, H.E. YAN Xiusheng met with the Executive Director of International Trade Centre (ITC), Ms. Arancha Gonzalez. The Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, Ms. QU Ying, attended this meeting.

Ambassador YAN introduced the China-Barbados relations and the pragmatic cooperation in the economics and trade sector between two countries and thanked International Trade Centre for the long-standing support of the Belt and Road Initiative and the first China International Import Expo. The Chinese Embassy in Barbados would like to join together with ITC to explore further cooperation in technique training and capacity building.

Invited by the Prime Minister, Mia Mottley, Ms. Gonzalez paid a visit to Barbados to explore ways to improve international competitiveness of coconut industry and boost export of coconut products. Ms. Gonzalez said that ITC has built solid cooperation relationship with Chinese Government and would like to deepen cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in Barbados.
