The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Barbados attended the Launching Ceremony of the Barbados China Returned Scholars Association

On September 1st, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Barbados, H.E. YAN Xiusheng attended the launching ceremony of the Barbados China Returned Scholars Association (BCRSA). Over 50 people including Dr. Che Corbin, President of the BCRSA, Ms. Joy Adamson, Deputy Chief Education Officer of the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Dr. Chelston Brathwaite, Former Ambassador of Barbados to China and students who have studied in China attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Yan congratulated the establishment of the BCRSA and expressed that its founding is the natural outcome of the healthy and steady development of the China-Barbados relations and wished the BCRSA become a good partner of all the students coming back from China to strengthen the friendship between the two peoples as well as to work as a platform to broaden the pragmatic cooperation between China and Barbados.

President Che Corbin expressed that the scholarships provided by the Chinese government not only give Barbadian students a chance to improve themselves but also contribute to the overall development of the Barbadian society. The BCRSA will try its best to provide a platform for all the students studied or studying in China to exchange information and ideas and also to become a bridge to promote the development of Barbados-China friendly relations.
